Lead and Copper

The EPA's Lead and Copper Rule requires Granger-Hunter to sample of 50 customer homes or business’ every three years. During our last sampling event in 2019, none of the samples taken exceeded the action level for either Lead or Copper. Lead and copper is often found in the plumbing of older homes and buildings. We are pleased to provide a critical update regarding our water distribution system.

Our primary commitment is to deliver safe and high-quality drinking water. To meet this commitment and comply with the latest regulatory requirements, we have spent the past couple of years conducting a rigorous review to confirm the absence of lead service lines (LSLs) in our district.

We are confident in confirming that our water system is lead-free.

This conclusion is based on a comprehensive process that included:

  1. Detailed Record Review: A thorough examination of all historical construction and maintenance records of our water service lines.
  2. Statistical Analysis: Beginning in January, we conducted a robust statistical analysis of our service line inventory data. This analysis provided us with 95% confidence that no lead service lines are currently present within our district’s infrastructure.

This ongoing work ensures that the infrastructure delivering water to your home does not contain a source of lead.
